Basics of Life

There are 4 concepts of life which split into 12 philosophies. These need to be followed in one’s life, to live a fulfilled life or reach enlightenment.

  1. Basic Needs
  2. Protection
  3. Morale
  4. Enlightenment

1. Basic Needs

(i) Food and Water to take care of hunger and thirst.
(ii) Clothes and Shelter to care for us in different weather conditions.
(iii) Wastes like Urine, Stools, Excess Vital fluid have to be removed.

The above three should not be avoided or postponed

2. Protection

(iv) Protection from Natural disasters like Flood, Storm, Volcano, Earthquakes, etc
(v) Protection from Non Humans like insects, Birds, Snakes, Animals, etc
(vi) Protection from accidents with other human beings and vehicles by following certain rules and principles

These three are followed to lead a longer live.

The above six philosophies are common to humans and animals. They are also very important to both humans and animals. With our sixth sense, we humans start going into the advanced philosophies of life.

3. Morale

(vii) Discipline - We should be disciplined in Thoughts, Words and Deeds (not to hurt our self as well as others, not to hurt the body or mind, not to hurt in the present as well as in future)
(viii) Duties – We have 5 duties in this life

  • a) to take care of our self (body, mind and soul)
  • b) to take care of our family (spouse children, parents)
  • c) to take care of our extended family (brothers, sisters, relatives, in-laws, grandparents)
  • d) to take care of our the town we live in (neighbours, friends, colleagues)
  • e) to take care of this world (we must be able to support anyone from any town or any state or any country)

(ix) Giving - One should give all that they have in excess to others in need. Also, give to those who suffer, Help everyone in need. If you have the potential to make lot of money, then it should be given to those in need.

4. Enlightenment or Reaching God or Cosmos or Universe or Beyond this Universe

(x) Belief or Faith - in the ways our elders have followed and following them. If we go by faith, we can reach God.
(xi) Understanding or Research - in the religious stuff, asking for reasons for the old school ways, why should one observe fasting? why should one do meditation, what happens to one after death? By researching and understanding the nature, society, and ourselves and respecting all the three, we can grow spiritually.
(xii) Perfection – By understanding and realising the values of life, nature, universe, that you are God's another form or you are a part of the supreme power or that you are the part of the Universe, we can grow spiritually and attain enlightenment and eternal happiness and live a truthful life.

According to the seventh philosophy, Body, Mind and Soul have to be taken care of.

For the body

  • We need to eat proper food. To live a natural, disease free, painless life, we need to eat natural food – as much as vegetables and fruits as possible and natural grains.
  • Drink lots of water
  • Don’t go for anything artificial. Any food or drinks with chemicals are toxins for our body and liver and kidneys struggle to metabolize and remove toxins from our body.
  • Body needs to be fit and active and flexible like a child. So, do exercise and yoga.
  • Do breathing exercise to get plenty of oxygen into your body

For the mind

  • Do meditation
  • Do breathing exercise
  • Do Thought Analysis, Desires Streamline, Anger Management, Sorrows Removal

Unfortunately, some people only choose a few of these philosophies during their lifetime. For some, the concept 4 is not even relevant.

If all the 12 philosophies are observed, the life we lead is called a spiritual life.
