What is Counselling?

Counselling will provide you with the opportunity to talk about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a safe, none judgmental and confidential environment. It is a space where you will be able to explore issues and life events, which are having a negative impact on your life whilst being held in a supportive and understanding manner.

Counselling helps make sense of unhelpful thoughts and feelings, thus empowering you to feel more in control of your life. You can explore past unresolved experiences, which in turn offers you a greater sense of clarity in the present, with an increased sense of self and optimism for the future.

I am not here to offer you advice. I am simply here to listen to you and to help you gain awareness into your current issues. You are the expert when it comes to you. Psychodynamic Counselling uses the therapeutic relationship to gain insight into your unconscious relationship patterns that have evolved since childhood. With this taken into account, I am aware of how this may affect the counselling relationship as well as your relationships outside the counselling room.
